We invite you to register to attend the O=MEGA23/WCO4 clinical conference, which includes trade show entry or you can register to attend the FREE trade fair only. 

Everyone wanting to attend must complete a registration form. Please read the below information before you complete the relevant online form.

The masterclass series will run at the same time as the clinical conference and includes trade fair entry. More information about the masterclasses will be available soon.

Trade fair registration
Trade Fair only registration is free entry. Attend the O=MEGA23 Trade Fair by registering with your details on the registration form below. Full Trade Fair only terms and conditions read below.

Student registration
A student is defined as a holder of a student identification card from a recognised tertiary or secondary educational institution or a holder of an international student card (submitted in English). Students must be studying full time to qualify for the discounted rate. A copy of your student identification card must be uploaded during the registration process or emailed to the Event Managers via email to office.vicsa@optometry.org.au Without this, the full registration fee will be charged.

The Koorie Market @ Naarm
The market will run parallel with the Meet and Greet Down Under on Saturday from 6-8pm. The Market will represent a variety of Indigenous businesses as well as live music performed by Yorta Yorta artist Madi Colville-Walker and a Welcome to Country. No bookings required to attend the market.

Slit lamp techniques and fundus lens workshop

For international guests only. Delegates will be attending a workshop organised by Deakin University at the Australian College of Optometry (ACO). Places are limited. Bookings can be made when registering for the O=MEGA/WCO4 program.

8.30am: Bus departure from Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC) to ACO.

9.00am – 9.15am:  Arrive & settle in

9.15am – 9.45am:   Clinical Skills Lecture/Presentation

9.45am – 11.30am:  Clinical skills practice

Vaccination requirements

There is currently no requirement for international travellers to be COVID-19 vaccinated to enter Australia. Check the Department of Home Affairs for the most up-to-date travel information.

Disclaimer
If you are unable to travel as your visa request to enter Australia has been denied, you may apply for a full refund of your O=MEGA23/WCO4 registration fees. You will need to notify the event manager in writing and provide your notification of refusal to office.vicsa@optometry.org.au.

Welcome Letter
If you require a welcome letter for your visa application you will need to complete the registration form, pay your registration in full and then e-mail office.vicsa@optometry.org.au to request a welcome letter. Please note that we do not provide invitation letters.

Terms and Conditions

Please carefully read the following terms and conditions for the clinical conference, trade fair and masterclass registration.

Clinical conference terms and conditions

  • The registration fee entitles all delegates to the following:

    • Access to the Clinical Conference

    • Access to the Trade Fair

    • Catering: morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea

    • Social function: Welcome Reception.

    2-day and 1-day registration:

    2-day and day Registration entitles delegates to the following:

    • Access to the Clinical Conference on the two days or one-day of your choosing

    • Access to the Trade Fair on the two days or one day of your choosing

    • Catering: morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea

  • Your completed registration and successful payment will be acknowledged via office.vicsa@optometry.org.au with confirmation of your requirements according to your registration form. Your registration will only be processed or confirmed if payment does accompany your form.

    Name badge.

    Conference delegates will receive their name badge on-site at the conference from the registration desk area. The badge will be your official pass and must be clearly visible at all times to gain access to the conference, trade fair and any paid sessions or social functions. The event managers expect appropriate behaviour from delegates and reserve the right to revoke the badge and privileges of any delegate who does not follow the event Code of Conduct

  • Please note all online registrations require immediate payment by credit card. Accepted credit cards are MasterCard and Visa. Please note all transactions by credit card will appear on your statement as payment to ‘Australian Optometrical A Carlton’.

  • Cancellations must be notified in writing to the Event Managers at office.vicsa@optometry.org.au

    Registration Fees: Before 8 June 2023 will incur an A$88.00 cancellation fee. Before 8 August 2023, will receive a 50% refund of fees paid. After 17 August 2023, there will be no refunds.

    Accommodation: A minimum one night’s deposit must be paid, or credit card details given at time of booking to guarantee reservation. One night’s deposit is non-refundable at 27 July 2023.

    Paid Social functions: Payments are non-refundable as at 1 August 2023.

    Should you be unable to travel and/or be required to isolate because of COVID-19, the Event Manager of O=MEGA23 /WCO4 cannot provide refunds for cancellations, unless the Event is cancelled as a result of an Australian Government mandate. The Event Managers are committed to providing a COVID-safe event that is governed by the rules and regulations of the State and Federal Government of Australia.

  • The program is correct at the time of publishing. The organisers reserve the right to delete, modify or alter items from the program or to delete, modify or alter any aspect of the Event timetabling and delivery at their sole discretion and without notice. Neither the host organisation(s) nor the Event Managers will accept any liability for any loss or inconvenience caused to any party consequent to such changes.

    The Event Managers reserve the right to use any recordings whether audio or video and/or any photographs taken at any stage during the Event for promotional, advertising or reporting of the Event and/or its content at their sole discretion.

    Insurance
    Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that all delegates take out personal travel and medical insurance prior to attending the event. The policy should include loss of fees through cancellation of your participation or through cancellation of the event itself, loss of airfares for any reason, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered, including due to COVID-19. The Event Managers will not take any responsibility for any delegate failing to insure.

    VISA
    The Event Managers can issue an Event letter for your VISA application, provided that you have registered and paid the registration fee.

    Dietary requirements
    Please ensure that you specify any dietary requirements (including vegetarian requirements). All attempts will be made to meet these requirements.

  • The Organiser and Host/s of O=MEGA23 in partnership with the 4th World Congress of Optometry (the “Event”) reserve the right to remove from the venue/Event at any time any attendee deemed to be causing, or potentially causing, a disturbance or exhibiting disruptive or inappropriate behaviour. Such removal does not constitute a right to refund of any fees paid. Please view the Code of Conduct here which all attendees are expected to comply with.

Trade fair (only) terms and conditions

Target audience

O=MEGA23/WCO4 will bring the international eye care community together, including optometrists, optical dispensers, ophthalmologists, orthoptists, ophthalmic nurses, practice staff, other retailers (sunglasses), mechanics, technicians and students.

  • Your completed masterclass registration will be acknowledged via omega-event@arinex.com.au with confirmation of your requirements according to your registration form. Your registration will only be processed or confirmed if payment does accompany your form.
